Fifth Activity

At this fifth meeting we received material about Writing for Broadcasting. In the material we were taught about writing news form the radio or on TV, with the rules of writing as follows:

1.      Use plain English

·         No time for the audience to find the meaning of one complex word, use

Poor instead of impoverished

Truth instead of veracity

2.      Use concrete words

3.      Avoid inverted sentences

For news writing must be able to answer

·         Who was involved?

·         What happened?

·         When did it happen?

·         Where did it happen?

·         Why did it happen?

·         How did it happen?

After the explanation of the material presented in a very interesting, we have a duty to looking for news for 5 minutes in English class area of Engineering.

Lutfi by inviting spirit Asnah find news, without realizing it turns Asnah sleepy when lessons. With a swing move very slow Asnah follow Lutfi looking for news and they set goals to find news on the #rd floor of the building H5 UM College of Engineering.

Following the news that they managed to get:

At 12.50 o’clock beside H5-306 room, two student are sleeping and they listend music use headset and bag as pillow.  ( Reported by Asfi )

5 minutes have passed and they returned to the classroom to report the news they receive. For the next task is to write the story of the video Blackberry for sale presented by the lecturer.
