Listening Interview Foreigner

At 11.45 A.M. Asnah and Lutfi go to their classroom. They see speakers on the table.  Ariful bring it to support the course because they will play the record of interviewing foreigner. If the group don’t get record from interview, those group must figure the conversation in front of class. They must listen it intensely ‘cause Mr. Aji, the lecturer of Advance English Engineering, tell that beside the group who sound on the record or figure conversation, the other group must answer question ftom those group. The group who can’t answer it will get a punisment.

The first group is group with number L4 but there is no one remember it. So Mr. Aji change the number. This time, Asnah and Lutfi get R3 as their group number. Feby’s group is the first group who will sound on her record. Because her friend is absent that day, she sound of the record alone. the situation is quietly soon. They listen carefully same as Lutfi and Asnah. The record is sounded on till the foreigner tell what their think about ICT in indonesia compare with their country. She give three question to them. First and second question are answered well. The third question for R3, Asnah and Lutfi. The question is what Alder Getter think about ICT in indonesia comapare with his country. Lutfi is confuse because she not listen carefully the conversation tell about it. So the question is answered by Asnah. It is Alder Gettet says that in his country, everyone has computer. After that Mr. Aji ask Feby to choose the next group.

The time is running. There are group who sound on the record, the group who just figure the conversation, and there is group who will sound on the record but then figure the conversation ‘cause the record so bad. The conversation not sound clearly. Those group is Rofiatus’s group. This week, Asnah and Lutfi don’t get time to sound on their record. They just listen the other group’s record or the other group conversation the answer the question.

Mr. Aji told that he apreciate his student because while one group sound on or figure conversation, the other group listen carefully not busy with their own business.

Fourth Activity

Malam Jumat Kliwon Storytelling

Asnah and Lutfi have a task to retell a movie. Not like before, they retell a animated movie, they retell a horror movie on this week. The title is Malam Jumat Kliwon. A movie figured by Suzanna. Their teacher, Mr. Aji, ask his student to retell in group. A group consist of two students. One student retell the story in Indonesia and the other translate it to english. If two weeks ago, Mr. Aji let his student to retell with paper, this time he just allow paper that tell the story in indonesian. He want his student get used to english.

The fisrt group is Muchson’s group. He and his friend, Vishal, tell the beginning of the story. The story is “Ayu Trisnaningrat was a mystery novelist who famed in Jakarta”. The story is continue fluently till Asnah and Lutfi’s turn. Lutfi read story in indonesian but she read in long sentence. Asnah get trouble to translete it but she make out it. She don’t translate what exactly Lutfi’s says. she tell in another word but with same meaning.

There is no group group get mistake or missing the order of story till Esti’s group. She and his friend, Aan, get problem. They debate what the next story. Aan know it and he tell Esti what the next story but she don’t believe him. She must tell “Ayu asked Ardan why the window was broken” but she tell a wrong story. They get punishment from Mr. Aji. He ask them to figure Bokir and Sundel Bolong like in story. All of in the class laugh see them.

The story still unfinish till the last group, so Mr. Aji change the rule. If the story is told by a group before, now the story is told by two groups. One tell in indonesian and the other translate it to English. The first turn are Ifa’s group who tell in indonesian and the translator is Asnah and Lutfi. They are surprise. They assume that this turn more difficult than before. So they listen Ifa’s group intensely. After ifa finishing tell the story, they think in while then Asnah answer it. They fell roomy.

The course time is expiry but the story still unfinish. Mr. Aji finish the course. He appreciate his student because translate well.

Fifth Activity

At this fifth meeting we received material about Writing for Broadcasting. In the material we were taught about writing news form the radio or on TV, with the rules of writing as follows:

1.      Use plain English

·         No time for the audience to find the meaning of one complex word, use

Poor instead of impoverished

Truth instead of veracity

2.      Use concrete words

3.      Avoid inverted sentences

For news writing must be able to answer

·         Who was involved?

·         What happened?

·         When did it happen?

·         Where did it happen?

·         Why did it happen?

·         How did it happen?

After the explanation of the material presented in a very interesting, we have a duty to looking for news for 5 minutes in English class area of Engineering.

Lutfi by inviting spirit Asnah find news, without realizing it turns Asnah sleepy when lessons. With a swing move very slow Asnah follow Lutfi looking for news and they set goals to find news on the #rd floor of the building H5 UM College of Engineering.

Following the news that they managed to get:

At 12.50 o’clock beside H5-306 room, two student are sleeping and they listend music use headset and bag as pillow.  ( Reported by Asfi )

5 minutes have passed and they returned to the classroom to report the news they receive. For the next task is to write the story of the video Blackberry for sale presented by the lecturer.

Amsyah and Radia     : I think in Indonesia 1 month

Lutfi                : What’s your purpose in Indonesia?

Amsyah           :  I study Bahasa Indonesia because Bahasa Indonesia is easy

Radia               : I want to study, because I forget English now

Asnah              : What do you think about education  in Indonesia?

Amsyah           : I think it is good

Radia               : I think it is good and good behavior

Lutfi                : What do you think about ICT in Indonesia if compare with your country?

Radia               : I think good, there are wifi areas but not everywhere

Amsyah           : I think same, like this computer, sains, technology but not many if compare                                                with my country Poland

Asnah              : We got task from my teacher to review movie last week, but we got a                                                        problem. Could you read and correction it?

Preparing and Writing Resume

Preparing and writing a resume is an English engineering material in the third meeting. In this material discusses the difference between curriculum vitae and resume vitae brtish american. The lesson is very interesting, because after having explained about how to write a curriculum vitae, a direct student of the british practice to create a curriculum vitae of each.

On the british curriculum vitae personal information section contains a short data (such as name, address, email, no hp). This is the difference between curriculum vitae and curriculum vitae of british India. If indonesia's personal information must be complete in accordance with the card population.

Differences curriculum vitae British and curriculum vitae American lie in title.If curriculum vitae british its title curriculum vitae while curriculum vitae american its title resumes vitae.Besides on curriculum vitae American there was no reference.

Mr. aji asks students to create a curriculum vitae to apply for the job you want. Active friends asked to help translate Indonesian-English. Different with the Asnah and Lutfi, as they get lost on a curriculum vitae of their concentration is impaired because of hearing friends calls requesting type-x. Because one of the x-type was used for the two rows of benches. Eventually proceeded, and Lutfi confused he asked for assistance to the Asnah.

When a student working on a CV, Mr. aji told me about his experience making curiculum vitae to apply for a job when you study in australia. The story can be taken from the conclusion that the reference is very important for recruiting employees. Because of the existence of the data reference, the Director of the company may consider its decision to contact the reference and try to reference contains data of people nearby.

The end of this third meeting, Mr. aji gave the assignment to create the ideal work based CV as well as a duty to distinguish between CV British and American with CV Indonesia.

story telling malam jumat kliwon

Malam Jumat Kliwon

Ayu Trisnaningrat was a mystery novelist who famed in Jakarta. She had a boyfriend named Anton who was a chief of Suara Jaya circulation publishing in Jakarta. She had interest in horror.

Since last few days, Ayu felt restless, afraid, panic, and was disturbed easily by small noise. So that, Ayu asked Anton to beyond city. In the middle of touring, they found a big house in the village. It looked fear and no body there. Altought the living room was clean, but bedroom was dirty and there were webspider and blood on the bed. Suddenly, she saw a man shadow behind window. The anxious Ayu followed him but she found nothing. Strange things that happened in that house didn’t make her afraid, but she wanted to live there.

Ayu and Anton went to Mr. Tomo’s house to get permission from the owner to live there. They were met with the old man named Raden Ngabey Arya Tejo. However, he was so afraid when saw Ayu.

Few days later Ayu got permission. She lived with a housemad name Ardan. in the rainstrom night, the electric turned off sudden because swooping thunder. She looked for candleslight and put on it. Suddenly, she saw Anton and her friend downstair and attacked him with weapon. she ran and opened the door to escape but Anton had standing behind the door to block her. Slowly, he turned into ghost with horn and broke the window.

Next morning, Ayu wonder how was she could slept on the floor. She assumed that fear things night was dream. However, she saw Ardan repaired window then. It made her confused.

In the night, when Ayu was typing novel, she heard a song. Becouse she felt disturb, so she looked for where that sound was sound. She found it in the werehouse and turned it off. She saw a wedding painting of house owner then brought it to workroom. When she would continued typing novel, she saw the manuscript had been scratched.

Next morning, Ayu asked Ardan why she always saw strange things. He told not the house was strange but she was. She still anxious, so she asked ardan who were Kasiman, Raden Ngabey Arya Tejo, and him. However, it made he mad then tried to rape and kill her. When he would ran after her, a women ghost called Sundel Bolong appeared in front of him sudden. The ghost ran after Ardan who escaped to lake. She sinked and killed him.

The next morning, Ayu went to Kasiman’s house after asked the address to Mr. Tomo. She asked the secret of Raden Ngabey Arya Tejo’s house to him like Ardan.  But he god mad and tried to kill her. She drove motorcycle to escape but he followed by car. She hid in the construction building but was found by him. When he would kill her, Sundel Bolong appeared and took the weapon from Ardan. That Ghost flew it in while then stabbed his heart.

After arrived in the house, Mr Tomo had waited her. He told that Anton couldn’t came because busy, but he ask Bokir to a company her. Like Ayu, Bokir also felt there was strange things in that house , he was frigtened by Sundel Bolong. He resigned in the next morning.Mr Tomo told Ayu that Kasiman and Ardan body’s were founded in the lage with ayu’s motorcycle. She was established as witness.

In the next morning Raden Ngabey Arya Tejo told Anton  who arrived from Jakarta that Ayu was his child daughter. On “Malam Jum’at Kliwon” Kinarti, Ayu’s mother, got black magic from Ki Brojo who cooperate with Kasiman, Ardan, and Roro Kumilah. It made her born for back and death.

 

One day, Raden Ngabey Arya Tejo knew that roro kumilah cooperate with Kasiman, Ardan, and Ki Brojo to killed Kinarti. He got made and killed Roro Kumilah and Ki Brojo. Then throw their bodys to the lage. However, he got caught by Ardan dan Kasiman, finally he gave 1/3 of his property to keep that secret.

In the same time, Sundel Bolong told that she was Ayu’s mother. She asked Ayu to meet his father in his final live.
